On October 29, 2021, the General Office of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued a notice on the issuance of the "Motor Energy Efficiency Improvement Plan (2021-2023)", which clearly stated that efforts should be made to increase the application of high-efficiency and energy-saving motors. For transmission systems using gearboxes and couplers, low-speed direct drive and high-speed direct drive permanent magnet motors should be encouraged. Vigorously develop integrated design technology and products for electric motors and load equipment structures, such as permanent magnet outer rotor electric drums and integrated screw compressors.

The Wofu direct drive permanent magnet electric drum motor is a comprehensive motor solution jointly developed by a key military laboratory of Wofu Permanent Magnet China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation. The maximum torque can reach 1 million Nm (20MW/200rpm), and the unique disc structure is selected. The drum is wrapped with rubber and replaced more conveniently, breaking industry habits and fully meeting the torque needs of users. It can be widely used in industries such as thermal power, steel, petrochemicals, coal, cement, etc., where there is a need for reducer systems and low-speed direct drive systems. All spaces are very compact, and various belt conveyors, pipe conveyors, etc.

On the belt conveyor equipment, a permanent magnet direct drive motor is used to replace the asynchronous motor+reducer structure+drum in the traditional system. Can effectively improve equipment reliability and eliminate downtime problems caused by gearbox failures such as oil leakage; Eliminate the problem of system efficiency decline caused by the loss of transmission efficiency of the reducer itself; Significantly reduce the vibration and noise issues of the original asynchronous motor; The system maintenance workload is greatly reduced; Significant efficiency improvement and high energy efficiency of the system; No need to worry about it.

On the belt conveyor, permanent magnet rollers are used instead of motors, hydraulic couplings, reducers, and hollow rollers. The speed is very slow, and the wear of the shaft system is very small; Solve the vibration problem of the shaft system; Better soft start effect; The system maintenance workload is greatly reduced; The efficiency has been greatly improved, and the system is energy-efficient.

The raw material process 11b.03 belt conveyor of a certain cement limited liability company in Tangshan has three feeding ports for the auxiliary material feeding belt. Each feeding port supplies one type of material, and the feeding port is used for forklift feeding. In order to avoid material mixing, there may be a phenomenon of the belt running without load in the gap between the three feeding ports, resulting in high energy consumption of the belt. The belt conveyor achieves constant speed and torque operation through asynchronous motors and reducers, with multiple transmission links and low transmission efficiency. The current motor used is Y2-280S-4, and the energy consumption of the Y series asynchronous motor is only at the international IE1 level (equivalent to the national third level energy consumption), which does not meet the national standards for motor energy efficiency limit values and energy efficiency grades (GB18613-2020). According to the relevant provisions of the Energy Conservation Law of the People's Republic of China, it needs to be forcibly replaced. In addition, the gearbox is prone to oil leakage and other issues.

After multiple investigations and comparisons, the original mechanical drum was dismantled, and traditional asynchronous motors, hydraulic couplings, reducers, and low-speed end couplings were removed; Choose the Wofu direct drive permanent magnet electric drum for modification. Construction will begin on June 17, 2022, and installation and commissioning will be completed on June 22, 2022.

Before renovation: The normal average conveying capacity of the 11B03 raw material feeding belt conveyor was 280t/h, with an average operating current of 80A (power consumption of approximately 637kwh/d) and an unloaded current of 50A (power consumption of approximately 113kwh/d).

After renovation: The normal average conveying capacity of the 11B03 raw material feeding belt conveyor is 280t/h; The average operating current is 59.5A (with a power consumption of approximately 488.3kWh/d), and the no-load current is 18A (with a power consumption of approximately 33.7kWh/d). Average power saving rate: 30.4%

The Wofu direct drive permanent magnet electric drum has a high energy saving rate, and its low-speed and high torque characteristics effectively reduce system vibration, extend the service life of the whole machine, eliminate auxiliary transmission equipment such as gearboxes, reduce maintenance and usage costs. It has superior performance in heavy-duty starting under extreme working conditions, reduces abnormal downtime, and improves the overall operating value of the equipment. Its energy-saving effect is significant, and it has the advantages of low investment and short return on investment cycle. In addition, the Wofu direct drive permanent magnet electric drum also helps owners in industries such as thermal power, steel, petrochemicals, coal, cement, etc. actively respond to the national "30/60" energy-saving and carbon reduction policy, and promote the implementation of low-carbon and sustainable best practices.
