  Recently, hosted by Anhui Wofu Permanent Magnet Technology Co., Ltd., a seminar on the application of permanent magnet transmission and drive technology was held in Hefei, bringing together about 200 application units, distributors, research institutes and other high-end permanent magnet equipment from all over the country. Xi Lifeng, former Executive Partner and Senior Investment Expert of Hefei High tech Venture Capital Management Partnership Enterprise (2024 Top 50 Chinese State owned Investment Institutions) Yang Ming, and PhD candidate Shi Hongyang from Hefei University of Technology in the field of permanent magnet technology, an academic salon titled "Development, Application Prospects, and Advantages of Permanent Magnet Technology" was held, which received high praise from the attendees.   As the host of this event, Mr. Chi Chongran, Associate Professor and PhD from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, provided a detailed introduction to the development history of permanent magnet materials. Starting from 1880, people first used carbon steel to make permanent magnet materials. Although its magnetic properties were relatively low, it opened a new chapter in the artificial manufacturing of permanent magnet materials. In the early 1980s, the invention of neodymium iron boron permanent magnet materials sparked a revolution in permanent magnet materials. Neodymium iron boron permanent magnet materials have extremely high magnetic energy product, and their comprehensive performance stands out among many permanent magnet materials.   Mr. Xi Lifeng, Deputy General Manager, Senior Engineer, and Deputy Director of the National Laboratory of Shanghai Coal Science Testing Technology Co., Ltd., talked about the development of permanent magnet transmission and drive technology in the coal industry. In the coal industry, the presence of permanent magnet transmission and drive technology has gradually spread to various key production links, providing strong support for the efficient operation of the industry. Permanent magnet drive and driving technology play an important role in belt conveyors, a key equipment for coal transportation. The drive system structure of traditional belt conveyors is complex, including multiple components such as motors, reducers, hydraulic couplings, etc. This not only leads to high energy loss, but also makes maintenance difficult. After adopting permanent magnet direct drive technology, the permanent magnet synchronous motor can be directly connected to the drive drum of the conveyor belt, achieving gearless transmission. This method greatly simplifies the transmission structure, reduces energy loss during transmission, and improves transmission efficiency. For example, in some large coal mines, the application of permanent magnet direct drive system in the main conveyor belt has improved transportation efficiency by about 15% -20%, while reducing equipment failure rate, minimizing downtime caused by equipment maintenance, and ensuring the continuity of coal transportation.

  Mr. Yang Ming, former executive partner and senior investment expert of Hefei High tech Venture Capital Management Partnership Enterprise (2024 Top 50 Chinese State owned Investment Institutions), gave a detailed account of the market opportunities and prospects for permanent magnet speed controllers and permanent magnet motors. Permanent magnet motors have significant advantages in energy conservation, and high efficiency will become an important trend. By optimizing motor design and manufacturing processes, reducing iron and mechanical losses, and improving the energy efficiency level of motors. At the same time, the development of intelligent technology will drive permanent magnet motors towards intelligence. By integrating advanced sensors and intelligent algorithms, remote monitoring, fault diagnosis, and adaptive control of motors can be achieved, improving operational efficiency and reliability. With the increasing global awareness of environmental protection, permanent magnet motors will be applied in more fields as efficient and energy-saving equipment. They can be applied in applications such as aerospace and electric vehicles that require wide speed regulation for direct drive; In high-speed permanent magnet motors, they can be used in turbine machinery such as vacuum pumps, steam compressors, blowers, as well as high-speed dynamometers for new energy vehicles, aerospace drives and testing, and many other industries such as papermaking, steel, and refrigeration; In the medical field, permanent magnet motors are used in surgical robots, precision diagnostic instruments, and treatment equipment to provide high-precision and stable power sources, ensuring the safety and accuracy of medical processes. Dr. Shi also introduced the application of permanent magnet technology in the fields of agriculture, shipbuilding, and ocean engineering.
